Let's Explore: November 2010

My interest in Early Childhood related matters:

When I was a new mother and son (my first born) was still an infant, I had taken a keen interest in Early Childhood Education, purely with the intent to nurture my son and to understand the growth and development of young children better; that spurred me to do a Diploma in Thematic Integrated Early Childhood of Education at CECE.

Subsequently, I was introduced to homeschooling and have done a lot of research and chatted with many homeschoolers about the matter, which led me to seriously consider the option to homeschool my son and daughters during their preschool years.

As a parent and educator, I am passionate about the importance of play in early childhood development. I am always looking for quality' open-ended 'toys' that offer my son and daughters lots of creative play opportunities. And, that’s what Let’s Explore is all about!

When you engage in constructive, interactive play with your child, you are providing a pathway to learning. Through play, children have the opportunity to be creative and curious and imaginative. They can try new skills, improve their language, and explore the world around them. Plus, it's just plain fun!

As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "It is a happy talent to know how to play." I couldn't agree more! I am so excited to be sharing you and your preschooler the opportunity to create, discover, build, experiment. Wishing you and your child many happy moments playing together.

How I Facililates ( in chinese=)

其实我在他们身上都没教育过正统的画画技巧。我都让三个孩子“自然发展”，而我真正的任务只是；

1。多鼓励他们；多赞美孩子的作品（美与不美；像不像都不重要）
2。提供不同的创作/画画媒介（不同的纸张、剪刀、彩色纸、几种的蜡笔等等。）
3。安排适当的环境（也是最重要的部分），我都尽量不让他们接触外来的影响；如暴力卡通戏、电子游戏、等等。
在家里，我为孩子设了几个活动角落如；
I)《创意角落》（画画、手工、自制玩具等）、
II)《绘本角落》（独立阅读和亲子阅读）、
III)《家家酒masak-masak 》
IV) 《积木角落》等等。
孩子们都会依据当天想做他们想做的事来选择《活动角落》来进行他们的“生活游戏！”！
